Post Graduation Work Permit Approval Issue Date

1-I have a big important question. So Canada government gave me a 2 year PGWP but im still in my home country did my work permit started now?
2-If not can i go to canada and activate my pgpwp and work 2 years without losing time from my pgwp .
I am asking that because i have 2 year visitor visa on my passport but i know that they will give me the work permit paper on airport. So if i am not going to lose my time on that 2 year if i dont go there right now what will happen my 2 year visitor visa on my passport.
