Post-graduation Work Permit 1 year study program

Hello all,

I am currently half way done through my 1 year program. The program runs from January 2010 to December 2010. However, I am only studying in the Spring and Fall semesters, so the total number of months studying is 8 months. My question is what CIC considers 1 year for the post grad work permit. Is it the calendar year of 1 year or is it the actual time studying, so the 8 months? I asked the international student office and I was advised "not to ask too many questions" because it is not clear how CIC interprets this rule. This seems unsatisfactory to me. Can anyone shed some light or an actual CIC rule or manual I can look up?

8 months course, 8 months PGWP.

My problem is similar to you. My program is 10 months duration which is 1 academic year according to my college and will get 1 year long work permit as they say. But I am not satisfied because according to CIC workpermit must be equivalent to duration of studies in months. please clarify my doubt too.
 
which university u r studying in????? i want the information regarding the 1year work permit?? is it being helped by the university in any way???????
 
Your PGWP is usually for the same length of time your program was up to a maximum of 3 years. So 10 mths course = 10 mths PGWP.
