Hi all,

I hope I am asking in the right place. My husband is here currently on a PGWP and we were currently debating about the rules and conditions of this permit.

On the permit itself it only states that he;

-Must leave by a certain date
-Cannot study while on the permit
-Cannot work in the sex trade industry

I cannot find any information on any other rules that may apply... my husband was under the impression that he is not legally allowed to work more than 40 hours a week. He had to turn down multiple jobs for this reason.

Does anyone have any website/document stating this rule (Or any rules?)!? It's really frustrating as you cannot find these laid out anywhere online. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

(Validity of the work permit)

one can only hold one type of permit at any given time. As he is on PGWP, he can not enroll in full time program, should he decides to do so, he needs to apply for study permit and his existing PGWP will be on hold. But it doesn't mean his PGWP will be reissued or extended
-Cannot work in the sex trade industry
this is self-explanatory enough

he can work more than 40 hours a week as well. for example of he is not on hourly basis but rather fixed salary that leads to 50 hours a week, PGWP doesn't stop him from doing so

Once you hold valid work permit, it's up to you, you can pick two jobs as well. one job covering 40 hours another job covering 20 hours. Usually employers paying on hourly basis do not wish to exceed 44 hours a week as it attracts overtime pay.
