Post Graduate Work Permit to Working Holiday

Hello,

I am currently on a Post-Graduate Work Permit.
I was not aware until quite late that my employer is unable to apply for an LMIA on my behalf.
So in order to extend my stay, I decided to apply for the WHP.

I called CIC and already confirmed that this should not be a problem.

My only concern is that there is a possibility that my PGWP will expire about a week before I receive my WHP.
I am planning to drive to the Canada - US border to re-enter.

Would this be a big issue?

I am Japanese, so staying past my Visa expiration is not a problem.

This is stressing me out, so any help would be appreciated!

Staying past the expiry date of your PGWP shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you stop working as soon as your PGWP expires.
