Hello
I am planning on applying for student permit and currently looking for suitable program. There is one college who offer s a Post-secondary Ontario College Diploma which is 2 year diploma but delivered in 1 year (3 semesters) I am really interested in doing that program but I am confused that “How long my post graduate work permit will be?”
College told me that I should at least get 2 years work permit if not 3 years.
Any idea?
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi imamol,

Sorry but a one year program or less will allow you to get a PGWP that is valid for the same duration as your study period. So, in your case, if your program is one year, then you will get a work permit that is valid for one year only. But two years program or more, will get you a three years work permit.

Good luck.....

Well technically i will be receiving 2 year diploma, but i will be only studying for 1 year as its a fast track program, does that make any deference?

Unfortunately, no. The actual length of time you spend in school in Canada is also considered.
