Hello Everyone!

I need a little bit of advice, and I'm finding it very difficult to find answers for my question.
When I received my study permit to Canada, the border officer made my study permit valid until the day I graduate. The problem is that I will be receiving my letter of graduation the day my study permit expires, and I will probably not be able to get my official transcripts until a week or two later.

Is there any kind of grace period where I can stay in Canada once my study permit expires? I've heard that after a study permit expires I am allowed to stay in Canada for 90 days legally. Is this true?

Will I have to go through the process of getting an extension on my study permit so that I still have student status for that extra a week or two?

Can I apply for my post graduate work permit at a valid point of entry with a very recently expired study permit?

Thank you very much in advance for all of the help!

No, there is no grace period. The 90 days refers to a time period where IRCC allows a person to apply for Restoration of Status but that is not legal permission to stay and you WILL be here illegally as of your study permit expiration if you don't apply to extend your status.

Yes, you should apply to extend your study permit. Alternatively, you can apply to change your status to visitor. Don't just let your status expire and end up in Canada illegally.

You can try flagpoling. It can be hit or miss. Ensure you have valid status.
