Hi,

My OWP expires on Dec, 31 and my spouse did not have applied yet for the Post Grad Work Permit. Since the processing time is currently 80 days, this means that the expected date to process the PGWP is only on mid-January and I have some questions and would like some help to clarify.

1. During the implied status for the PGWP, could I apply for the Open Work Permit extension?
2. If the PGWP was not processed on before the Dec 31, I would not be allowed to work anymore. Is there any other option to keep / extend the work permit?

Best Regards

Since your spouse is moving to a PGWP, they need to have a NOC A, B or 0 job and must have started that job in order for you to extend your open work permit. Do they have a job that meets these requirements?
