hi everyone
I'm applying for a post doctoral research scholarship in a Canadian university. I wonder if such a post-doc offer can be treated as a job offer from migration view in order to proceed with relevant visa options. Appreciate if forum members can share information or experience. Thank you

LMIA exempt jobs can only be used to express entry job offer for migration if you had been on it for a year already and would still have at least a year left by the time your PR is granted...So once you get the Postdoc, you would need too get a work visa first and then you can always apply after a year or apply within Canada in the FSW stream if you are eligible

Hi All,
I am in similar situation. I am a postdoc with three years of experience and now I have a job offer for two years. But I am not sure why I am not getting points for a valid job offer.
these are some questions that I think, I am answering wrong?

Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada? (required) - no

Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the current work permit? (required) \
1) yes
2) no
3) no-my work permit is exempt from LMIA due to an international agreement
4) no-my work permit is exempt from LMIA due to a federal-provincial agreement

5) no-my work permit is exempt from LMIA due to other reasons and employer-specific

If I pick option 5 I do get (50) points but I am not sure if that is the right option for me as I am funded by my supervisor's grant.

please help me.

thanks in advance.
