Possible police charge

He all, i have already recieved my sponsorship visa but i have a question.
i am travelling to canada on the 18th june 2010 to start my new life with my wife in canada.
I recently had a visit from the police who said i coudl be charged with leaving the scene of a minor accident, i hit someones buper and drove off. now i possibly could be charged with this event. would this charge revoke my visa and stop e from entering canada?
i am terrified it will and i dont know what i would do if that is the case

In my opinion as long as they have not formally charged you , you will be fine. However if you are formally charged you will be stopped at the boarder. Remember you are considered inocent until proven guilty.

Can you settle with the owner of the other vehicle and get the charges dropped?

if stopped at the border would i still be allowed in after questioning?
i have been told im being charged yet but it is a possibility.
i cant contact the other party as i dont know who they are but they are not wanting to pusue the case through their insurers and just want me to pay for it in cash

Then by all means go ahead and pay them off! You don't need a charge against you when you're getting ready to land as a PR in another country.

Try to settle it out of court pay him what he wants..... He is happy & you are free to go....
