Hello,

I am a Philippine citizen, and I have a same-sex partner (also Filipino). We got married online using Courtly services and obtained a Utah State Marriage License. However, this marriage is not recognized in the Philippines, where I am considered single. So I put single as my marital status should for my student visa application to IRCC. Will this cause misrepresentation?

Should I inform IRCC about this? Please, I need your advice. Thank you!

Have you ever lived together for a continuous year? Canada will not recognize the Utah marriage either if it was done online.
