Hi there,

I've been very depressed these days due to some threats given by a person who claims to have some proof against me that I obtained Canadian Citizenship illegally...
He says he's going to supply that proof to CBSA and RCMP and then they will depart me along with my family from Canada.

To be very honest, I obtained immigration in 1996 on forged education documents that were luckily not verified by CIC officials. I became a Canadian Citizen in 2000 and got married. Now I have kids born in Canada and I'm doing very good job and part time business.

My question is that really matter if someone complaints and any real consequences?

Thanks.
Dear canadianc1,

Honesty is the best policy !

The retention time of an immigration file at CIC is 10 years only in normal circumstances.

Good Luck & please be honest in your life.

now is the pay back time so you are depressed. by the way why is he threatening you. is he asking money???

how come he knows you used forged documents. i am sure you you can't be clean. you must have done some agreement with him to pay for forged documents and because you are not paying him so he is threatening you???

remember crime never pays and in this world you have to pay for every shyte you do..........

i can't say no more......

Thanks for all further depressed replies!

I have spoken to some lawyers and they told me since I have sufficient ties in Canada, have kids (Canadian by birth), and have no criminal records, in this situation CIC LAW will be soft and I can stay here as long as I can afford to retain a LAWYER. Not sure if this would be really a case...

My another question is "Can I keep my current job which I also got on fake documents since 1998?".

Let me be clear why he is doing this to me? He knows that my current employer has an excellent pension plan which is vested in 15 years of continous employment and in my case it is vesting in 2012. That's why he is asking a large amount of $$$ and I'm still not sure if this would be his last call???

Are there circumstances which can be helpful in my situation eventhough he shows his proof to the authorities?

Thanks and seeking some +ve responses at this time?

Hello
Just hope for the best ,there is no need to stress yourself about what may happen to you. There are only 2 scenarios:

1) Best case scenario: your man reports you but CIC question his motives and throw out the case ,They also know that there are people who are consumed by resentment and grudges. May be they won't believe him and they may find the case too complicated to unravel since you are already a citizen and canadians children are involved. So in this scenario you WIN.

2)Worst case scenario: CIC believe your man and decide to prosecute you,but you still have some defence,it has been a long time and we are talking about education documents.Still if they go further and revoke your citizenship, you can still re-apply(canadian wife & children etc...). So in this scenario YOU STILL WIN.
Relax my mate ,in any case don't give in to the blackmailer,it will only incentify him to blackmail other people

to tell you the truth i have no sympathy for you.

but as a human being i would advise you not to be scared of him or any bull shyt threats. first of all its not easy for someone to file a case against you. they need conclusive proof that you used forged documents and it will take a long time to investigate.

i remember a case when i was in uk where a woman claimed that a man married to him just to get nationality and he used forged english test to get nationality. she wrote to uk home office numerous times but they never beleived her.

so in that sense your case is strong and if that man writes to cic they won't beleive him unless he uses a lawyer or some very strong representation.

lastly don't use fraudulant means. if your kids know this they gonna blame you one day. what kind a character are you...?????????

It's a very long story how he came to know that... he has been chasing me for last several years and now got this document which he has also verified from issuing authority. So he has a verified document and told me he would use all means to deport me from here.

read my last post. as per my advise don't be scared of bull shyt threats. they mean nothing. as you have kids born there they can't deport you even if they your kids can sponsor you again bcz they are canadians by birth and not bcz of you. so you can come back to canada ever after

i tell you just tell him to do watever he can and don't fall for any scam or blackmailing

this is very hard to answer and i don't want to please you by giving wrong hope.

but i suggest like i said before its very hard for some one to convince your employer that you have used forged documnets to gain employment. if your employer is satisfied with your job he won't beleive any bull shyt anyway. i think you just be very good to your employer and make him trust you so if any bull shyt approches him , he trust you instead of bull shyt. if employer is happy with your work he would never want to loose you so just relax and make your work good.

be brave and bold and tell the man to do watever he can. this is the only way you can win.

Hi canadc1
Don't worry about the snitch ,nobody will believe him.And you can't lose your job for that . Every decent person would want to know: why now? Where has he been all these years ? why report the matter only now? Even your employer won't buy his story, tell them the guy is blackmailing you to get a share of your pension payout. Blackmail is a crime ,he can be sent to jail where he deserves to be.
Don't kill yourself with depression ,every canada hopeful deserves a second chance

I doubt you will be deported but you could lose your job.

You have, unfortunately, defrauded your employers for all these years. They can, legally, terminate your employment and withhold your pension. Whether they do so, is up to them and the relationship you have with them.

I am sorry you are in this situation, if this person follows through on his threat you will have a lot of explaining to do. Maybe, now could be a good time to own up to your employers, before they read it some where else.
