Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi everybody
I`m new here today and I wonder if anybody knows about imigration pssibilitys for retired persons and of course for my family.
I`m Norwegian and my future wife is from the Filippines and we have to children who is Japanese citizens.

There is no immigration class for retired persons. One of you has to come out of retirement and immigrate as a worker under the skilled worker program, under a provincial nominee program with a job offer or by getting a temporary work permit or a study permit to start and use that as a way to apply for immigration later. If you have business experience and money, an investor program, federally or under a provincial nominee program is also an option.

You can find the immigration programs here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

:o
So you mean its not possible for a retired person to settle down in Canada?
My girlfriend is not retired so the possibility is for her to enter Canada first then and I can come later or go on a tourist visa?
I have a pension from the Norwegian goverment so for myself there is no economic problems and also full medic covering from the same.

Yes, basically it is not possible for a retired person to settle down in Canada unless they can show that they have some assets that Canada wants. If you are not contributing to the work force, then you can come as an investor and contribute money/create jobs. If you have a working wife and she qualifies for immigration, then you can go along as her husband. If you have grown children who immigrate, they can sponsor you.

Do you know for a fact that you will keep all your Norwegian pension if you move to another country? As for medical coverage, once you immigrate to Canada, you are entitled to health care in Canada. They do not red-flag you and deny you coverage based on you having said at some point that you would take coverage from Norway. Besides, you may not be entitled to health care in Norway any more after you have lived in another country for several months. I know in Iceland, it is 6 months before you drop out of the system.

I`ll know fore sure that I will keep my pesion wherever I go and the same with the medic situation. I`m currently living in the Philppines and it does not change the situarion where I live only if I`ll change my nationality I will lose my rights from the norwegian goverment.
