Hello All,

I have a question which I would like you to shed some light on.

I am an Outland applicant, waiting for my Spouse Visa to come through. My wife is in Canada and in the Sponsor.

I work for a sporting event which is hosted globally. One of the hosts for this event is Canada. There is a company that I work with every year while preparing for this event. This company comes from Germany to do their part of the job and after they finish, they move on to the next venue. They travel to all these sport venues, including the one in Canada.

I have a potential job offer with them for the temporary project in Canada this year. Now my question is, while my Spouse application is under process, is there any way of me obtaining a work visa to travel with this team for this temporary event project?

I understand that my question is a bit too far fetched but I'm just exploring options at the minute.

Have you talked to your company about this yet? The fact you have an outland application in progress gives you no benefits in this regard and makes you no different than any other foreign worker. If there are people from your company who regularly travel from Germany to Canada each year to support this event to work - you should ask them how this is done (on what sort of visa). You would have to follow the same process.

Hello Scylla,

Thanks for the reply. No, I didn't think so either. As I said, it is too far fetched. You see, the team from Germany are Germans, therefore Visa Exempt. For them it is a lot easier to just pack up and go do a project somewhere. But hey, I appreciate the reply.

By the way, I looked at your timeline. Not too bad of a wait huh. Good for you.
