Hi everyone,
I am a doctor in Brazil holding a PhD, and I have to go to Canada to attend a clinical fellowship at University of Calgary, Alberta. I will have a work permit and a good salary from U of C to accomplish this goal. My intention is only stay in Canada (with my family) for 2 years and once my studies are finished - I 'll come back to Brazil with my family. Additionally, my position in Brazil is totally secured, in the hospital which I work. Actually I'll keep my contract here in Brazil and this rellocation to Canada will be supported also by them in Brazil - I'll have my salary monthly paid from my institution in Brazil during the time that I will be in Canada.
So, my intention is bring my family with me. My wife, my 2 y daughter Valentina and Gabriel 5 years old. My concern is: Gabriel has cerebral palsy with a gastrostomy and tracheostomy. However we have a normal life with him. He goes to Church with us, goes shopping, etc and in fact, his intelligency is normal. He doesn't use any device and any high cost medicine. Only physiotherapy. My intention is bring my wife, Valentina, Gabriel and a nurse who is part of our family. I think there is no highly demand health support for him . Depending on values ($) we could be in charge for the costs involving with Gabriel care.
Also is necessary to remphazise that we need to live in Canada only for 2 or 3 years to finish my studies and we have to come back to our lives in Brazil. I will have a a salary from U of C and a salary from Brazil and an active work contract (with my hospital in Brazil). They will be waiting for my return. But I cant left my son behind in Brazil during this temporary period.
Do you think I will have problems when it comes to this temporary stay in Canada , considering I want to take Gabriel with me?
Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon. Jaime
