Port of entry

Hello,
My husband and I have recently received PR under the express entry scheme. We have chosen to go to Halifax. The cheapest flight that we have found has Montreal as the port of entry. Will that be a problem for us as QUebec has a separate immigration scheme which doesn't allow express entry PR holders to work and settle there.
Advice on this will be much appreciated

Normally it should not be a problem as long as you can show CBSA you have for example a same day onward connection to Halifax on a through ticket. You would need to complete both immigration and customs at Montreal before dropping your bags at a connection desk for the domestic flight, allow at least 3 hours connection time. Assume you checked connections via Toronto as well ?
