As you probably are aware if arriving from outside Canada you complete immigration formalities at the first port of entry into the country so given there are so few international flights direct to Calgary then this would likely be your scenario anyway. So the answer is no problem to land anywhere with the exception being that if you were an Alberta PNP applicant you would probably need to show onward travel to Calgary. Having said that you will always get the odd immigration officer who might pick up on the COPR destination and comment on it but nothing more.

That depends on your original eAPR. Have you received a PNP from Alberta? If answer is yes, then you must complete your PR landing process in Calagry.

That can be done easily by booking a one-stop flight from home to Calagry. Air Canada or other airlines have code-share agreement with canadian carriers so you can land first at Toronto or Montrael or any other airport and board another flight to Calagry. Then only then you can do the PR process.

This is very common among many whom have received PNP and need to land at the assigned province

I have received my Confirmation of Permanent Residency and the port mentioned in the paper mentioned as Calgary since I opted for Alberta. Can I land in vancVanco and fly to Calgary if coming from outside Canada?

Looks like you are not under no obligations to land in Calagry if you are not PNP nominee and thus no need to worry about where you gonna land.

Just planning to book my tickets so wanted to confirm everything before booking. I have applied under express entry so not sure whether there is any obligation or not. So confirming. Thank you for the information

There isn't any obligation . the human right charter applies on you , giving you ''Freedom of movement'' meaning you are enter or exit at any place in Canada.
