Hello,

I have some debts in the US and had to leave the country 3 years before due to family situation. Now I’m in Canada on work permit. My question is that when I apply for PR, the police background verification will show any records and my PR application will be rejected? Appreciate your response.

Only if there were criminal charges brought against you for some reason. Assuming these are small credit card debts, this won't be an issue.

Thank you for your quick response. It was a loan from a lender which was around $30,000. I believe it would be a civil case record, any chance it would become a criminal record? Any idea?
