Hi , I have a problem. I am in Greece now and I have to take a police clearance from Calgary because I was there as a tourist for 10 months.
Any suggestions??

CIC does name-based checks for all applicants. The only reason that CIC would request a PCC from you is if someone with the same name as you has a police record. Then a finger-print based check is required.

So maybe your lawyer is being thorough, but unless/until CIC requests it, it is unnecessary.

If it is requested, instructions are provided by CIC on their website.
