Police clearance question ;India

Hello all,

I am a nri and my future wife is from India. She and her family both live in Mumbai, and all her legal documents have her Mumbai adress. Our plan is that I fly to Punjab, India and she also travels to Punjab and we both get married in Punjab,cuz that's where our families are. The question is, that does her police clearance have to be from Mumbai or can she get it done in Punjab?

Its from the place where Address is registered on passport or any other govt Id.
