So, after a decade of fighting with immigration my mom and I finally got our medical and police clearance requested. We are under the humanitarian and compassionate class. We did the medical exams on the day that was requested and I sent the fingerprints and the other requirements to the Canadian embassy in Mexico. This last one step was only required for my mom as I was 13 when we entered Canada. After they get the fingerprints from Mexico (60-90 days) how long do you guys think we have to wait for the next step? What's the next step? Or was this the last one? We recently got our work permits renewed and my mom got it for six months only while mine is no longer open but rather a study permit that allows me to work ON campus for less than 20 hours. This is horrible since I have to study full time and work at least 35 hours in order to pay the university fees (God knows UofC is way too expensive). Do you think this has to do with our humanitarian process? I need this to end before I ran out of hair to pull from my head.
