Police Clearance for Canadian Citizen Wife

Today I got my ITA, I filled up all the information. Now I see that in the document list they are asking for the police clearance of my wife. My wife was born in Bangladesh, she lives in Canada and she is a citizen. She lived in Bangladesh for 3 years from 2012 to 2015.
My question is why they are asking police clearance from Bangladesh for her as she is already a Canadian Citizen?

As non-accompanying spouse. Already mentioned in the form that she is a Citizen.
