Hi there,

I got my Police clearance from Ireland last year as I thought I would have received my ITA already but I didn't due to a delay with my LMIA. I have received my ITA now but the Police clearance from Ireland is more than a year old. The Police clearance is dated up until February 2015 and I have not been back to Ireland since this date, so I'm wondering if I can still use this police clearance since I didn't enter Ireland after the date my police clearance was issued for or do if I have to get a new one. Any help is greatly appreciated

No, you cannot submit an expired police clearance certificate. You will need a new one.

Provided the PCC was issued after you left Ireland, it remains valid.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

Wrong,is not valid and dosen't stay valid and you need a new ONE and if you don't provide a new one your application will be Refused.

Yes, absolutely it is still valid from CIC's perspective. Regardless of the rampant misinformation above, CIC makes its own rules and posts those rules on its website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/security/police-cert/intro.asp

"For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."

The 2nd condition applies to your situation, I believe, these PCCs are valid indefinitely, as long as you don't return to reside there.

Please ignore the idiots who have no idea what they are talking about and read what myself and jes_ON quoted from the CIC WEBSITE.

You are a IDIOT and each PC is valid for 6 months dosen't matter if you left Canada or no.

Thanks for the downvote.

You're still wrong. Seriously, read the bloody website. Or just read the other posts in this thread that QUOTE the website.

Stop giving bad information.
