In the past 4 years, were you in a country or territory other than Canada for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18)?
It goes on further to say:
You don’t need to provide a police certificate if
This is quite confusing.
For many of the students who came to Canada as a student and later became a permanent resident and stayed in Canada itself and never went back to their home country this is not clear.
In my case:
I came to Canada as a student in 1st Dec 2019 and became a permanent resident on February 2022 since then I have never gone back to India and my eligibility window is May 6th 2019 to May 6th 2024. Now that I have completed my days,
1. do I still need to provide a fresh PCC just because the clause says since the age of 18 ?
2. Provide a fresh PCC as my eligibility window says that I was in India for more than 183 days before coming to Canada as a student ?
3. Or Can I repurpose the same PCC as I never went back to my home country(India) after landing in Canada ?
4. Or Not provide any PCC and get ahead with the application.

You don’t need to provide a police certificate if
- you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada, and
- this time falls within the past 4 years
