I'm applying for Permanent Residency Permit. My application page indicates that I must upload 2 certificates of police clearance but I have never stayed out of my country for more than six months. I only visited South Africa on numerous occasions but in most cases not spending even a week. Does that imply I have to obtain SA PCC?

Across all your trips combined, did you spend more than 6 months in South Africa? Did you obtain any degrees through distance-learning, at a foreign university?

They could be reasons why the system wrongfully expects you to upload multiple certificates.

I have to verify. But I doubt very much My usual trips were single or 2 days for shopping. I stayed for a month once

Do you imply that the system could have added all the days that I visited SA and amounted to more than six months? I thought the requirement is that the days have to be consecutive and add up to 6 months.

Yeah, it has to be 6 consecutive months. I'm just trying to think of a reason why the system could possibly ask you for a 2nd PCC. They only recently changed this rule - previously, you had to upload a PCC if cumulatively you spent 6 months or more in a country (not in a row), so possibly they didn't update the system yet?

What about distance-learning (e.g. completing a degree online at a university based in another country)? This is also known to lead to additional PCC requests.

Is there anything else in your work history, travel history or educational history that could've triggered this?

No, I don't have any qualification from SA. I thought it's an error but didn't want to risk my application being rejected.
