Police Clearance Certificate

Hi all,

I'm expecting my ITA shortly (fingers crossed) and have some concerns about obtaining a police clearance certificate from the US.

Firstly, I'm unsure about whether I need one. I was under the impression that I don't, as one of the criteria for providing one states that you would have had to be in the country for 6 months continuously or longer. I was in the US for 4 months, after which I left the country for a month and then returned to resume my course there for another 3 months. And that was that.

I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know if that would still count as 6 months continuously -- and if it does, is there any way to apply for PR without being able to submit it right away along with all other requested documents? This is seriously worrying me, now!

Thanks a bunch!

from the the description itself. if you stayed in a country for 6 months CONTINUOUSLY OR LONGER.
you were in the US continuously for 4 months only.

if you are still in doubt you can call CIC to clarify or if its not really hard to obtain a US PC, it would not hurt to get one just in case.

Thanks so much for the quick response! It's not necessarily hard to obtain one but it takes a long time; much longer than the month I will have to apply for PR through express entry. (Hence the anxiety)

My application for residency is now on process. When i uploaded my police clearances i am lacking 1 which is my coc from singapore. So, what i did is write an explanation letter that my request was on process and it shows on the singapore website that they will send it to the immigration officer or cic. After a long wait, the coc mail came to my mailing address. Now my question is, do i need to wait for the CIC to ask for my coc knowing that i stated on the letter that it will be sent to CIC? O do i need to mail it to CIO? And what is the mailing address? Please advise. Thank you
