Is Police Clearance Certificate neccesary ,applying under general category ( paper based in india)?
Going by experience share in the forum so far, yes it is necessary. Even if not needed it cost ur application process nothing but when needed & not included it may be reason for refusal.neets_0047 said:Is Police Clearance Certificate neccesary ,applying under general category ( paper based in india)?

Hello Dr., I'd like to ask a question. As said, PCC is not mandatory in India, does it mean that it has already been mentioned PCC is not required for indian national? because I have traveled 4 different countries and needed to provide PCC when applying my study permit. but mine was refused by saying that I didn't provide Indian PCC since I couldn't get anyway. I am currently in Korea and I went to Indian Embassy in Korea, but they didn't accept my application for PCC. I definitely can't go back to India to get the PCC too since I am currently a student in Korea. I have posted the following and please give a suggestion if you have any.Dr.Raj91 said:Its is not mandatory in India..! So don't worry about it..!

"My study permit was refused because of police clearance letter. I stayed in 4 different countries more than 6 months including India. I could get 3 out of 4 PCCs and i submitted without Indian PCC because I was refused by the consular section of indian embassy in seoul by saying that Indian embassy is not accepting the PCC application from foreign national. So, my application was refused. NOw, i want to apply it again and I went bk to the embassy and the consular said i should get the letter of criminal history clearance from the institute i went and then he would stamp on that. Then when i got the letter and went back to the embassy, they stamped on that but it was mentioned on the letter that indian embassy doesn't take any responsibilities of the above content. I was scared to apply again with this letter in case if it is not valid enough, my application will again be refused. I asked to the embassy of canada in Manila. However, it has been 3 days already and they didn't response my query. I do not have much time left to submit my application. I do need suggestion. Please help."
PCC is required only after completion of your studies and then you apply for work permit there in canada so most people suggest it to make it earlier before going but after getting visa because it is very costly to get PCC in canada as compare to india.neets_0047 said:Is Police Clearance Certificate neccesary ,applying under general category ( paper based in india)?

if you applied for study permit with all the documents listed in the checklist then you are good to go , dont worry about PCC now, I told you that its needed only when you apply to work permit in canada, well about background check embassy have their different ways to do background check like calling workplace, calling college etc so dont worry at all.ambujnagchaudhuri said:@ jessica1
I have applied for study permit with all the supporting documents. But I have lived in UAE (Did my undergraduation there 2008-2012) and Brazil (October 2012 - May 2013). Do I need to submit Police Clearance Certificate too? Or the CIC will make its own background checks (I have mentioned my stay in UAE and Brazil in the forms).
