Hi,

Police certificate from my home country was not on my document checklist. I read some sections in CIC website regarding Police certificates, and they state that : "Our online system will ask for a police certificate for:
  • you and your family members who are 18 years or older
  • and
  • every country you (or a family member) stayed in during the last 10 years for 6 months or more in a row "
I aged 18 in July 2013, and in August 2013 I came to Canada, and since then never left a country for a period longer than 2 weeks.

Does it mean that I should not even worry about that certificate?

Hello

That happens to my common law partner who came in Canada to study a couple of months before he became 18 years old and since then he never left Canada longer than 3 months in a row. He is still in University in Canada. While we were on PR process, he was never asked to upload his PCC from his home country. We are currently PR right now. Hope our experience helps.
