I had applied for permanent residency for my parents and now I have been requested to provide police clearance certificate from India. How hard or difficult is the process to get a police clearance certificate from India, as one of the option was to go to a police station. As I have no experience with this, just wanted to get some opinion on other's experiences. Is going to the police station more feasible or applying through passport office (book appointment online) more easy ? Would we get the certificate within 30 days ? About 50 years back, my parents were in a different state in India, its practically not possible for them to go that state now and since last 40 years they are in one state in India. How do we get clearance certificate from other states if we need to ?
