Police Clearance Certificate and change of passport

Hi

I have questions with regards to my Police clearance certificate. Due to time consuming process, I avoided sending it along with my application.

Now what would be the best time to send? Should I apply for PCC now and send it when I get or should I wait till they ask for it?

Also, if I am applying for new passport which is expiring after 9 months, should I send the copy of new passport to them as soon as I receive it?

If you only need a PCC from India - then I believe they are valid for 1 year. If so - then you can request for one now and submit when requested for by the VO (or I believe during your Meds).

You will have to send a copy of new passport with a cover letter. The new passport will have your old passport number mentioned as well so that should be okay. Just make sure you mention the details in your cover letter.

Apply for new passport now. Once you get the passport, wait for your file to reach your local visa office, then apply for PCC at passport office. you will get PCC in one day and you new passport will be stamped for it. It will be valid for one year.

I appreciate your replies in this regards. Thank you very much for that.

My concern is that if I apply for new passport now, will that make any different while assessing my application as my old passport will be canceled. Do they actually check with passport office with regards to passport status or is it that validity on the passport is good enough for them?

FYI: My passport is valid till February 2015. Also, I have get PCC from 2 places in India and one from the UK.
