Police Checks

Hi,
I have visited Thailand and Turkey for various project assignments. I have stayed in the respective countries for more than 6 months. Do i need to get the police checks done. If yes, what is the procedure for the same?? Currently I am residing in India..What documents need to be furnished to get the certificates issued??

What was your status in those countries? Did you have a residency visa? or were you staying on visitor status?
If you were a resident - you could visit the embassies of those countries and ask for information on how to apply for the police clearance.

If you were on a "visitor/tourist" visa...i don't think you can apply for police clearance at all.

hi,

if you were working there and have stayed more that 6 months then you will have to get the PCC. So better start collecting information now and try and get the PCC at the earliest.

Ok i will start collecting the PCC?? Is there a validity of the PCC?? Are they valid for 1 yr??

yup they are valid from one year from the date of issue. have u already got through the EE draw and have got invitation to apply??? The main problem is getting PCC from other countries sitting in India. Like for me i stayed in Vietnam for 15 months. Now when i had to submit PCC the VN embassy in Delhi informed me that it is not possible. They said you have to be present in Vietnam for that. So such stupid situations arise. better start planning / inquiring.

Dear did you manage to get PCC from Vietnam? Was it required by VO? Your timeline on left side shows there is no activity in your case from long, do you know the reason. By the way we both have same NOC.

No i did not manage to get the PCC from Vietnam. NDVO asked me to submit the same during my MR.
I tried to get the PCC from VN embassy in new Delhi but they bluntly said that it cannot be given by them. I should be physically present in Vietnam to get it. Now how is that going to happen?
So i sent a letter to NDVO starting the steps i Took to try and get the PCC. Nothing else i could do. Yes long time no activity. My 3rd line is updated since December and they have not asked anything further yet. Hoping for the best.
