Hello - quick question:

I was reading thru a 2013 thread about inland visa applications.
One person said they received a request from CIC for police checks for all family members (siblings etc) that DID NOT apply for PR and most likely will never visit Canada.

Does this happen often?

No, it never happens. I am not sure about which post you are referring to, but I am sure it was some sort of confusion on the part of the applicant. CIC doesn't care one iota about your siblings or your parents since they are not part of a spousal sponsorship. All they would care about would be immediate family members which would include applicant and any dependent children.
