police check timeline

trying to be on top of things, my partner and i got our FBI police checks right away, so they would be ready to go. I just realized that as we are about to send our completed applications in, these have now expired beyond the three month window of when they are considered valid. Do i need to refile for a police check? or should i send these in as is and if CIC wants more up to date ones they will contact us? in the meantime, i can send away for new ones to save some time?

You will have to get new police certificates, do it before you mail your application. You might get away with the old certificates (in the sense that they won't return your application, but request new ones) but do you want to take a chance? Unless you have some urgent reason for getting it in right now, I suggest waiting...

I suppose what i was plotting was that if i go ahead and send it in all now, as well as go get new FBI checks for the US (the only ones we need), then when and if they say, hey these aren't valid, we need new ones, we'll either have them in hand already, or be that much closer to having them ready. Maybe that's wishful thinking? and maybe it will cause more delays?

It would probably be OK, but I still suggest waiting, since it is the only clearance you need.
