Hello!
Can anyone clarify if IRCC can/will request additional police clearances from countries you have lived longer than 6 months? (During the background check phase of the process)
We submitted the required police checks for Spousal sponsorship (current country of residence + country where you resided for most of your life since the age of 18).
However, last year my partner and I lived abroad for longer than 6 months.
Has anyone else received requests for police checks under similar circumstances recently?
I know others have been asked for additional police checks in the past but I'm looking for more recent info as the process was updated in 2018 to require police clearances at the time of application (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/application-kit-spousal-sponsorship.html).
