Hi , another question.Just wanted to clatify something. In the complete guide for spousal sponsership (here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5289-sponsor-your-spouse-common-law-partner-conjugal-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html#gather) , it states:
Police certificates
The principal applicant and each family member 18 or older (who aren’t already Canadian citizens or permanent residents), must submit police certificates from the following country or countries with the application:
  • Current country of residence if you (or they) have lived there for 6 months or more.
    and
  • The country where you (or they) resided for most of your (or their) life since the age of 18.
Police certificates are generally valid for 1 year from the date they’re issued. Depending on processing times, we may ask you for new certificates.

I currently live in Canada. So I will need a police certificate for Canada.

I came here when I was 20 and I have lived here since. So thats 2 years in my home country since I was 18, and 2+ years in Canada. So it appears I dont need a police certificate from my home country .Am I right?

But , in the package checklist , it states : If you(or a family member 18 or older) have lived in Canada for the last 6 months or Canada is the country where you have lived for most of your life since since the age of 18, police certificates for Canada are not required at this time. IRCC will make a request for a Canadian police certificate(s) on your behalf. Check if this applies to you.

SO ,it appears I dont need to get any police certificate. Anyone else went through/saw this ? Should I still get the Police Certificate just incase ?
Thank you for your help.

There's a wizard somewhere on the Ircc site that tells you if you need one for your home country, mine said I didn't need to but I gave one anyway

And as I had lived in Canada previously they asked for a criminal record check later on... after I got the pre arrival letter
