Police certificates?

I am living in USA since past 10 years and have Police certificate from the city I currently live in. They are saying they can only give me the clearance on my current stay (one year in current location) as they don’t have any information from my previous states. I am not sure if this is good enough.

Also, my spouse is here with me in USA since last year of which she has a Police certificates. Does she need the police clearance from Nepal as well where she was residing before coming to us?
If so, I don’t think you can get a police clearance from Nepal without her being there physically which is impossible at this moment.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

No, you need a police certificate for your complete stay. Here's what you do:
You should:

get a cover letter and fingerprint card from the FBI. You can download these from the FBI website or write to the address below and have them mailed to you.

have fingerprints taken. You can have this done by:
a local police department or
a private fingerprinting business.

(When you have your fingerprints taken, you will need photo identification.)

include a Certified cheque or money order for the fees, payable to the U.S. Treasury
mail the letter, fingerprints and fee payment to:

FBI, Criminal Justice Information Services Division
Attention: SCU, Mod D-2
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306
U.S.A.

Processing times is 28 calendar days. The FBI will send you a letter with the results of their record check. That letter will be your police certificate. You should send the letter and any attached documents to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada office processing your file. All police certificates must be originals.


As for Nepal:
PCC is only issued by Police Headquarter in Kathmandu Nepal

The above answer is correct about the PCC in USA. It's not for the city. It is for the country. Therefore you need to get an FBI clearance certificate.

As for NEpal, you can indeed get a PCC without physically being present. You just have to have somebody in Nepal who will submit an application on your behalf. You can find the information in Nepal police headquarter's website (in Naxal I think).

Also, I don't know if you are from Nepal but if you are and have stayed there for more than 6 months after your 18th birthday, then you too will need to submit a Nepalese PCC. However, PCC is not required to submit with initial application, so you can wait for it until they ask.

Need some guidance on this.I sent in my home country pcc with the application, but I need to send usa fbi one also as I lived there for some time.i am in process of getting my fingerprint and probably estimating to get fbi pcc by end of august. How do I send the pcc to cic then? In the instruction it says pcc has to be obtained within the last 3 months when cic receives it.It means cic has to receive my pcc by end of november. how do I ensure it since I already sent my application?I just mailed my application.it should reach cic by 30th june

I am waiting on CIC to return my package for FSW (NOC 2171) since I didn't have my ECA report included.. Now that my ECA is done, I will start My PCC report but will send CIC a new package for NOC 2171 since PCC is not required to submit with my initial application.

If you have already sent your application, then wait for your visa office to ask for the PCC. It is the visa office that you selected that will need it, not CIC at Nova Scotia. If you are worried about not having enough time to produce a PCC after being asked, then it is a good idea to make PCC when you get an acknowledgement of receipt by your visa office, otherwise it is just a gamble.

Thanks a lot for your answer.Ya I am really in dilemma with the 'pcc has to be issued within the last 3 months' because if visa office is the main concerned body about this then the home country one I already sent with application will most likely not hold as I am seeing cc/dd gets charged in 2 months so vo office will probably not touch my file before 4 month. I really have to guess the times properly.

I downloaded the forms from the website below and trying to fill this up.

The form has some characters like below even though I have Nepali font installed in my laptop:

Also, the form also says that I also need to provide fingerprint.

Does this mean I need to mail them the original application with my fingerprints to Nepal?

I was just trying to scan the originals and send it in email as attachments to my relatives in Nepal so that they can print it out and submit to the headquarter.

Anyone has done that ?

While sending the Application form to Nepal Police, can I send the attested scan copy with the fingerprint or do I need to mail the original?
