Police certificates

Hi all I would like to ask the experts some questions, I just received my medical request and some additional documents from cec, and I was wondering if the police certificates that they are asking it is just RCMP or my back home police certificates again? I sent my police certificates fro back home with the initial application.

In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

· Newly signed Schedule A with details for Q8 (Personal History) showing period of 2008/12 to 2012/11/30.
· RCMP Fingerprint Check

Police Certificates:

Please be advised that Police Certificates must be submitted as ORIGINAL documents, in their original PAPER format. We do not accept scanned copies. This document must be sent via postal or courier service to our office at the following address:

All requested documents/information must be accompanied by the outgoing correspondence we have sent to you (i.e. this e-mail or a printed copy of this letter).

Please note:

All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations.
When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable.
If you are unable to provide any or all of the requested documents/information, please explain why they are not available.

Ya, no worries.

Those two documents is what they're asking for, so that's what I would submit.

I sent documents to CIC on 27th Oct 2013 and documents reached to CIC on 4th Nov 2013. Hopefully to get AOR in Jan 2014.

Question -
I did sent the package without FBI Clearance as I applied in Sep 2013 but did not received till Oct end.

I received FBI clearance today (6 Nov 2013).

Question is should I send FBI clearance now / should I wait till I get AOR and then send this FBI clearance.

Anyone / his/her colleague faced same scenario; please advise.

Its always more advisable to wait until you receive your AOR and your file has been transfered to CPP-O. But, if its going to expire (validity is 3 months), then I would send it off to CIO. I think that its taking 60 days for AOR now, so you will have about 1 month to send it to CPP-O. Personally, I would wait, but it comes down to you.

The problem is that they would have no way to reference your file, since it doesnt exist yet and would take effort to attach, as opposed to if you are sending to CPP-O with UCI and E (application) numbers. Time it out to whatever you think works.

"Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence and address your correspondence to the address indicated below"

Is these documents I have to send it to the VO directly mentioned in the signature or I have to send to CPP-Ottawa address?

If CIC reached out and requested something....with instructions, its then imperative you FOLLOW THOSE INSTRUCTIONS. Do as they say. Dont assume anything. Does it say send to CPP-O? Then send it there. If it says, addess to CPP-O with Attention to VO #, then do that. Its really that simple.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm annoyed, but I dont like when things get overcomplicated for no reason. Good luck!

I have a question about police certificate. I have a police certificate which was issued 6 months ago. I understand that it must not be more than 3 months old. If I want to get a new certificate it would take 2 months. So which one do you suggest?

1- send my application now with the old police certificate that I have and wait for their request for another one?
2- send my application 2 months later with a new police certificate

Send it with the outdated one now, and send them a new one later one, whenever you get it - after receiving the AOR.
PCCs are not required to be sent with your application.

Guys, Question please. I didn't manage to collect all necessary police certificates before sending the application. So i did include whatever i had in that time and sent directly to CIO. But of course lacking many certificates from many countries for me and my wife. Any harm from my rush action?

No, submit the remaining PCCs after getting AOR.
