hi to all
my wife is canadian citizen, we are planning to apply for my pr in end of feb 2013.

can anyone tell me plz that when i need police clearance certificate from india. i mean is it compulsory at the time of application or later when they approve.
other issue is i spent few years in australia and uk. and i already got issued police certificates from both countries in nov 2012. i recently heard that immigration accept certificates 3 months old issued. mine ones will be 4 months old in the last of feb 2013. do i need to apply again for them or the old ones will work. because i dont think i can do crime in the other country when i am living here in india.

It's best if you mail the police clearances with the application. You can send them in later with your Client ID and a letter, but people have been refused and had their entire application returned in this case.

If the police clearances are over 3 months old, they are invalid. Also, if they expire (1 year) during processing, Immigration may ask you to obtain new clearances, so it's best to have them as fresh as possible.

When doing your application, follow the law to the letter. Forgetting one document or not signing one line can get your entire application returned and you forfeit your place in the queue.

I agree its better to send the police certificates with the application. But its not a requirement. They will ask you to send the police certificates with 2nd stage AOR or PPR. This was mentioned to me by my lawyer.

i want to discuss my full case with you as i got big shock today. i applied for visitor and got refused. reason is i will not come back to india because of family ties in canada and india. my wife sponsered my trip ,her package is 60k per year. and they gave another reason that your finacial situation is not good.. anyway the thing is..

we got married in aug 2012. this was second marriage of my wife. due to 5 years sponsership bar, she is not eligible until the 28th feb 2013. we are planning to file the case on 1st march( i also mentioned in covering letter for visitor visa).
i travelled australia, uk on student visa and schenegen states on visitor visa + thailand
my wife is canadian citizen.

as we know if we apply on 1st march it will take minimum 6 months + 2 months(the period upto 1st march 2013 from now) could be long.
we were thinking if she moves to us and find a job over there and sponser me so we can spend this time together and on the other hand, side by side we wait for decision from canadian immigration.
but we dont have clue about the whole procedure in usa, i mean how to do it and wheather it is possible or not.
other option we were thinking is if she goes to usa as an international student and sponser me.
which one is better we dont know. plz help us to find a good way

It's not at all unusual for someone in your situation to be refused a tourist visa. Tourist visas are meant for people who wish to visit Canada for a short period of time and have no plans to remain long term. You obviously have plans to remain in Canada for much longer than a visit. That's why you were refused.

You can try re-applying and this time provide stronger proof of your ties to India (i.e. prove you only plan to come to Canada as a visitor and will leave once your visit is over). You should also include stronger financial proof if possible (proof you have sufficient funds in your own bank account).

As for your questions about the US - you should really post these to a US immigration forum.

You need to show strong ties to your country that will prove to the Visa officer that you will return back from Canada. Even if you show lots of ties still they might reject your visa since you are planning to apply for PR in about 3 months. It might all depend on luck and second time chances are even lesser. Maybe consulting a lawyer will help you get a better idea.

i also need to submit my driving history report(australia) with police certificates. the one i ordered was issued on 1 nov 2012.
police certificates which are valid 3 months old, is it same for driving history report or old one will work?
and also is there requirement of driving history from uk as well?
