Hi gang ... I'm kind of stumped on this section. My wife is from S. Korea and she did reside in the US for 8 months as a visa student. So we are filling out her FBI background check application form however it denotes that the SSN (social security number) is required???? Obviously she doesn't have one ... so is there another form she can fill out? Also she was not in the US for the 8 consecutive months as she came to Toronto to visit me on her 3rd and 5th month in the US... not sure if that exempts her as she did not stay 6 consecutive months ...

Just write N/A for the SSN, that's what I did, and it was absolutely fine.

If she only visited with you during the period, and her primary residence was in the US, yes she still needs to have it done.
