Police Certificate

Hi everyone,

I am planning to apply for Canadian Citizenship very soon. I read in the guide instruction that I need to provide a certificate of conduct/ police clearance (certificate) before I apply. Actually, I lived in Dubai from 2000 to 2017. My 5 years eligibility period is from 2016-2021. This means I have to get a police certificate from the UAE as I was in Dubai in 2016. How do I get the certificate? How do I apply for it? I am currently in Canada.
Please advise.

During the time you were in Dubai, were you there continuously for 183 days in a row? If yes, you need to provide the certificate. If you would travel back and forth between Dubai and Canada/anywhere else such that you never spent 183 days together, you don't need to provide it.

Also note, the document checklist states only 4 years before the date of application signed is considered for police certificate, not full 5 years of eligibility period.

I believe someone else here said the online version from the Dubai police website is also accepted.
