Hi,

It's only the main applicant who has to provide the police certificate or even the dependant?

Thinking logically, The dependant is also immgrating to Canada which means that there should be clean record for the dependant too. So, I think dependant also needs to produce a police clearance.

It does make sense but it does not say clearly on the checklist so that's the reason I wanted to clarify.

Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over need to obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application.

If the original certificate is neither in English nor in French, submit both the certificate and the original copy of a translation prepared by an accredited translator with your application.

"Both the Certificate and the translation"...If I certfify a copy will it be efficient? Because I have 1 original police Certificate from my home country but I'm planning to submit 2 different applications. (On one I'll be the principal , on the second one I'll be the dependant) So I can submit only one original with the first applciation and I can submit a true certified (notarized) copy with the second application...
