I really need your opinion on this.
My Police Certificate from China is translated by China Notary (which is a government authority). It states that no criminal record can be found till the day the certificate is issued (that's what it meant in Chinese on the certificate). With the English translation, this is what it says:
She had no criminal record and illegal act until the date of July 1, 2014 by query online. It is here to certify.
At the bottom of the translation, it has the date of July 1, 2014 underneath the name of the officer.
The translation sounds a bit odd to me. It sounds to me that I didn't have criminal record before July1, 2014, but on that date, I committed a crime.
Any suggestions? Am I thinking too much?
