Hi

I have received my place on the IEC 2014 initiative and I am currently applying for the temporary work permit. I have to upload a police certificate to show my police record. I just looked through my documents and I have one from Feb 8th 2013. Would this be OK to submit, or is this certificate too old?

I would be willing to get another one but it would cost close to £100, so if I could use my old one from February it would save me some money.

Thanks

Normally CIC will not accept a PCC that is older than 3 months when it reaches them. You need to get a new one.

My friend is planning to apply to IEC in February when the application for Polish Citizens opens. He holds a Polish passport but has been living in UK for 7 years. Do you think he will need a police certificate from both countries or just from UK? He doesn't have official UK residential status (that is, he has never applied for permanent residency there). But he lives there and has been employed at the same hotel for 7 years.

CIC rules are that a PCC is required for every country where you have lived for more than 6 months since you turned 18. This is for PR applications. I don't know if this applies to IEC but my guess is that they will want all or none.
