ANYONE HELP PLEASE.

Received regarding our application for permanent residence in Canada. The email stated that Police Certificate from Mexico is required

I have applied for police Certificate from the Immigration Section Mexico. Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193, Col. Granada, 11520 Mexico, D.F. It was received by Osvaldo Salinas on April 17th.,2013. I consulted the link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/mexico.asp

and followed the instructions on how to obtain police certificate in Mexico, if you live outside Mexico. Concerning because email had requested that attach the letter/email which I have received from CIC for the request for Police Certificate have attached along with the police certificate. I wanted to clarify that the police certificates from Mexico will be sent directly to the Immigration office Canada as stated on the above web site. Therefore, I am not able to attach. Since I submitted our request for the police certificate from Mexico, prior to email instruction from CIC, I am concerned that my police Certificate may not reach you at in time. In this regard, any possibility for the an extension, because CIC gave me just dad line by June 24th., 2013. I also have a question in regards to the type of police certificates required. As I heard that now for the Mexican they are asking only one police certificate which is State before it was 2 is it true. Really thankful if anyone can help/advise me for the above matter.

Thanks.

i am working on mines as well right now... there seems to be debate in this issue but i believe the answer is 2:

the first one is the PGR one which it seems you requested already (the "Informe de datos registrales")

the second one is the "certificado de antecedentes no penales" that can only be issued by the SSP (Secretaria de Seguridad Publica) by either you going in person to request it or sending a direct relative (mother, father, brother, sister, somene that shares your last names) with a power of attorney (carta poder simple). from what i've been doing research on these and other forums, the SSP certificate is relatively easy to obtain. you only need a copy of an updated birth certificate and an official photo id like your passport, IFE, etc., show up and ask for it. they give it to you on the same day.

i'm sending my parents for mine this coming tuesday. i'll let you know how it goes.

Hi, Well that would be great. but just want to share you I did the call Mexican embassy in Vancouver and they said that now CIC asking only State which is Informes de datos registrales, I am pasting you the web site which say about it. I also did call in to CIC they explained me the same.

well... here's the thing. look closely at what the link you posted says. on your first link it reads:

"Offices that process permanent and temporary residence applications from applicants who have lived for six consecutive months or longer in Mexico since reaching the age of 18 are now required to request both the Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) and Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SPP) certificates. The SPP certificate is easier for applicants to obtain, and also includes a search for law infractions from state databases."

so you need to present 2 certificates: the one from PGR (the Informe de Datos Registrales) and the one from the SSP (Certificado de No Antecedentes Penales).

i'm also in Vancouver (so hello neighbour! :D) and i went directly to the consulate with an appointment to ask them. now, while they told me the same thing they told you (that they were only asking for one) when i called the CIC they did say they needed 2 of them and directed me to the link you posed, where it states that both the PGR and the SSP are needed.
