Police Certificate related question (Pakistan) - Study Permit

Hi,

I am applying for Canadian study permit very soon and I have a query about police clearance certificate. I am currently living in lahore and have lived here for last 20 years. I also lived in Multan for a year (from Nov 2007 to Oct 2008) while I was employed there. Shall I furnish police certificates for both cities i.e Lahore and Multan (although I have got the latest certificate from Lahore)??? Is clearance from Lahore sufficient or shall I get one from multan too

CIC says you have to furnish certificate for all jurisdictions/countries where you have lived for more than 6 months???

I would be really grateful for any help here.

Hi, the current residence city certificate is enough. But there is no harm in presenting both.

I was born and brought up in Bangladesh and currently working here for last 3 years.

Do I need to show my Bangladesh's police cert as well as Malaysian ones? That would be a problem though :S

Hi Snake, in your case as you have stayed in a different country for more then 6 months, you will have to provide PCC from Bangladesh as well as Malaysia.

Will he have to go to Malaysia in person just for this? Can he order for it via airmail or through third party?

I do not know about Malaysia but for my French and Swiss certificates I applied online.The French one was free but for Swiss police certificate I have to pay.

anyone else would like to put some light on it??? did anyone apply for study permit and gave police certficate for every city he lived after 18 years of age or submitted certificates for the current city

Why do you need to mention if you have lived in multan for more than a year? Did you work there or study there? Dates and city name written on educational docs/work letters? My dad has lived all over Pakistan for over 6 months .USA immigration has set this same 6 month restriction. Get police certificate from
Each district in which you have lived for more than 6 months. He just showed one police certificate from one district in which he has resided for more than 25 years. This saved him a lot of hassles . What you will write in the form given by the police officer that will be printed on police clearance certificate.

Let me tell you one thing. Visa officers are very robotic and methodical in their dealings. They just follow rules .So it is a good idea to show from multan as well if work exp certificate has duration written on it.

My dad was applying for family based immigration and also retired so he did not need to show employment letters and such. He could get away with a lie.
