Hi all. My partner has been asked to provide a police clearance from their home country. Now they do have a police certificate from their home country from 2009 (this was for their student visa app and is also the last time they were in their home country). Can they submit the original 2009 copy or do they need to request a new one? The details would not be different since they haven’t left Canada since 2009, although not sure if police certificates expire. Thanks!

Police certificate provided should not be later than 6 months from the date of application submission. You can always apply for home country PCC at the local embassy . For example for people from India can apply for PCC at Indian Embassy (BLS service). So check your partner home country embassy and apply for the same.
