Hi All,

From the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:
  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.
This is confusing. What happens when you live in Canada, but visit your home country? Does the PC have to be issued after you last lived there, or after you last visited?

I recently submitted my FSW application. My partner and I live in Canada, but visited her home country and got her PC on day of our departure (same date as the flight out). I thought this was ok, because we were only visiting her home country, not living there.

But after rereading, I am concerned our application might get cancelled because of the date of the PC. (The PC was also older than 6 months when we submitted the application.)

Might they deem my application incomplete because of this older PC? Should I quickly get another PC and submit it to CIC via the Case Specific Enquiry Form?

Thanks for your thoughts!
