Police Certificate from Local Police Station In India for Work Permit

Hi,

I am currently living in Bahamas for more than a year. I can get police certificate here for my Work Visa application to Canada.

For my previous residence in India, can someone please advise will the police certificate issued by local police station in my district in India will be sufficient for my Work Visa application?

If not, is PCC mandatory?
