Police Certificate from Home Country for Provincial Nominee Class

Hi,

I have been here in Canada under a study permit since 2021. I am an Egyptian citizen. During my last visit to Egypt earlier this year, which lasted for one month, I issued a police certificate one day before my flight back to Canada (i.e., My flight was on June 5, 2024, and the police certificate was issued on June 4, 2024). I have NOT been to Egypt since then. The police certificate is valid for 3 months, which means it has expired (I am aware that the IRCC counts the validity as one year, regardless).

I plan to submit my PR application through the Provincial Nominee Class if my PNP application gets approved, hopefully, in the next 2 months.

Now come the questions:

- Is it true that the police certificate must be issued when I am outside my home country? FYI, issuing police certificates through the Egyptian embassy is a big hassle, if not unreliable.

- If I use the current police certificate, does this mean the IRCC will contact me in the middle of my application processing asking for a newer police certificate since it will by then have exceeded the one-year validity?

- Assuming that the current police certificate can be used, if I travel to Egypt again for a short visit, do I have to issue a newer police certificate again?

Thanks.
