I have a question about the police certificates. The CIC states that if you were in a country for longer than six months, you need to get a police certificate, this also counts for my husband.

My husband is a freelancer and was employed by a Dutch company to work in Italy for 8 months in total; he was away from home for 8 weeks every trip and made four of those trips.
During those 8 months, he stayed on a work vessel, received payment from the Dutch company into his Dutch bank account and apart from eating out in restaurants, did barely set foot on Italian shore. There is no registration in Italy apart from the flights he made back and forth. Yet, he was in Italy for more than 6 months in total. Does anyone know if a police certificate is still required?

Also, for me there is a similar case but in England. No registration, no address, but I did have a bank account (still do). I was in England for barely 6 months, probably less when you count the weeks I went back home. Do I need one too?

Thanks in advance for your help/advice.
