Hello everyone, I'm starting to gather the documents I need to apply for PR in Canada and I would ask you some clarification about the police certificate for family members.

The explanation they give is:

Police certificates

You and your family members who are 18 years of age and older and are not permanent residents or Canadian citizens must provide a valid police certificate for each country other than Canada, in which you have spent six or more months since the age of 18.

and few rows above, specifiyng who can translate the documents, they write:

Translations must not be done by the applicants themselves nor by members of the applicant’s family. Family member is defined as being a: parent, guardian, sibling, spouse, common-law partner, grandparent, child, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew and first cousin.

To me it means that I have to provide all the certificates for all the categories listed above as family members, but it would be like 15 certificates other than mine. :o
Is it exactly like that or maibe they forgot to mention that they are required for family members applying for a PR permit only? :-[

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Ciao

Family members in this case refers to your dependants (children) and NOT your brothers, sisters aunt etc. So the sponsored spouse and dependants (18+) are do to provide the PCC.

Thank you very much, that's was I was thinking :)

I have another question about the police certificate: Right now I'm in Italy and I'm planning to move there and apply from inland. It would be much easier for me to get all the certificates (police, born etc) here before to go, and then attach them to the application once I'm there. I was wondering if this can cause any issue. It isn't specified anywere that for inland application, certificates must be issued from your country's embassy or so but I just want to ask you as you're surely more expert than me in all these cavils...
